Benefits to Regular Massage Treatments in the Summer

Benefits to Regular Massage Treatments in the Summer

Warm summer weather means vacations, lots of outdoor activities, tending to a garden, and extra time on your feet compared to non-summer months. All this extra fun can mean sore muscles, fatigue, and the need for some TLC on those aching body parts. At Square One Salon, you can enjoy a massage customized to your needs. As if you needed more of a reason to enjoy a massage, here are some benefits of massage treatments during the summer.

Relieves aches & pains. With the increase in activity and exercise in such a short time, you may be overworking your muscles. Any one of our massage therapies can help reduce aches and pains related to achy, strained, or pulled muscles. When you engage in regularly scheduled massages, your muscles stay limber, inflammation is reduced, and you lessen your chance for injury.

Reduces stress. Yes, stress happens all year long but summer tends to be an overly stressful time with entertaining kids at home, traveling, work, bills – and all the other daily stressors you encounter. Let’s face it, summer can be rough on the body and mind. Relax both your body and your mind in as little as one massage session to release tension. Many suffer from increased discomfort and swelling in the summer because of the heat, humidity, and buildup of fluids in the body. When you indulge in a massage, your circulation increases throughout your body, causing swelling in your joints and limbs to reduce. A massage will also help boost your lymphatic system into action which helps to push fluids through your body and helps to release excess toxins. One common complaint in the summer months is soreness in the lower back and shoulders and swelling in the knees and ankles due to excessive yard work. Pulling weeds, mowing, and raking all take a toll on your body. Massage therapy sessions can help reduce inflammation and relieve pain from all that activity. To be honest, there really isn’t a bad time to schedule a massage, nor do you need an excuse. However, with the business of summer, it’s a great time to take advantage of all the benefits massage has to offer and give yourself to quiet time with your massage therapist. At Square One Salon, we offer a hot stone massage, reiki & craniosacral massage, or a customized table massage to meet the needs of what your body specifically needs. If you’re ready to treat yourself to some TLC while improving the health of your body and mind, make an appointment at any of our locations. You can or call or visit one of our directly.
