Thank you for helping us raise over $10,000 for Earth Month 2012! Well done. Through your donations, we will have cleaner rivers in the state of Ohio and people around the world will have more ready access to cleaner water. Our first annual hair show was a success on Sunday April 29th, 2012 due to the great support of our family, friends, and talented staff.

Alison, Doug, Nina, Brent and Nathan attended the Serious Business seminar in New Orleans Jan 22nd and 23rd where Square One was recognized by Salon Today as one of the 200 fastest growing salons in the country.

It was great learning what is going on in the world of salon business across the country as we were joined by over 1200 industry leaders. We would like to say THANK YOU to all of our staff and guests that made this award possible!

I’m delighted to report another tremendous fund raising success. Based on preliminary figures, this past Saturday’s Masquerage was a record-breaker in every category for this event. With more than 900 attendees, gross revenues of $155k exceeded our budgeted income of $130k by 19 percent. Contributing to the success were nearly $98k in corporate sponsorships (our largest ever for this event), and about 325 Red Ribbon patron tickets (another record-breaker, at $150 each).

Attendees included a number of folks from Columbus, who are enthusiastic about introducing this or a similar event to Central Ohio.

Blue Sky Project is a juried, international summer artist residency committed to producing ambitious and meaningful works of contemporary art. It includes a strong youth development component and an emphasis on art making as community-building.

Event Benefits Humane Society

A great time was had by all who attended the fifth annual Cat Walk 2011: Diva Las Vegas! More than a dozen Dayton hair salons competed for most outrageous hair, costume and make up designs. Proceeds from the event benefited the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Square One Salon won in 5 categories: best hair, best costumes, best make-up, best choreography and Top Cat!

This Event was a great success!

For Dayton and Centerville area: We invite all of our guests in Dayton and Centerville to bring in new toy items that will be donated to CARE House. Click here to learn more about the CARE House.

For Columbus and New Albany area: Nationwide Children's Hospital Center for Child and Family Advocacy, have poinsettias at each location that are decorated with ornaments that have items, gift cards, or dollar amounts that their service teams have identified for their families or general team purposes. Dayton, Ohio based Square One Salon & Spa has taken customer service to the extreme in an effort to hold on to customers in the economic downturn. Clients are offered free coffee upon their arrival and an associate takes their coat when they arrive. The owners and employees alike have been known to feed parking meters, warm up cars for clients and even move cars to parking spots closer to the business.

In addition, every new customer receives a personal follow-up call two days after their visit to ask about their experience. The spa owners say the economic climate dictates that customer service is their number one priority. Watch video.

The votes are in, and with 19 percent of the votes Square One (with locations in Dayton and Centerville) is the best salon or day spa in the Dayton area.

A Great Time - A Great Cause!

Wow! Thank you to all that came out to support The Humane Society and this year's Hairball Acatemy Awards! Square One had a great time and walked away with the award for Best Costumes and an award for Best Friends of the Humane Society award for our Dog wash this past summer that raised over $2000 for the cause. Thank you again and see you next year!

Mid Size Business of the Year!

Square One Salon was recognized by the South Metro Chamber of Commerceas the Mid Size Business of the Year at this year's 2009 annual meeting.

We would like to thank the community and the chamber for this recognition. We are thrilled to be a part of building a great 2010 with all of our friends and neighbors!

Lets Make a Difference

Did you know that the employees at square one salon have been recycling all of our cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum for the past three years?

We not only use the most environmentally friendly product, Aveda, during our services and to sell in our retail center but we really care about how our daily activities impact our community. We also use filtered water to make our Aveda Comforting Tea, and serve all our beverages in glass and ceramic containers to cut down on unneeded waste.

Keep an eye out for several of our employees biking to work too. Every little bit we do makes a big difference over time. Please ask us how you can be a part of the solution and if you have a helpful tip for us please share it! Thanks!
